Become a Board Member!
Our Board members are volunteers who give their time to keep the Chapter running and provide information managers in our region with quality professional development and networking opportunities.
We are always looking for new Board members; whether you are a veteran information manager or new to the field your skills and perspective can be a valuable asset to the Chapter. Here are a few of the benefits participating on the Board can have for you:

How do I become a Board member?
First, let someone on the Board know that you are interested. If you like, you can attend one of our Board meetings to see what they're like, and ask current Board members questions about their roles.
You need to be a Chapter member in good standing to be eligible for a Board position. Board members are nominated and then voted in at the Annual General meeting in the spring of each year. If there is only one nomination for a position, then the position is considered "filled by acclamation" and no vote is required.
Often new Board members have not had experience on a Board before; this is perfectly fine, and other Board members will provide mentoring and assistance to new Board members to help them get comfortable in their roles.
You can see which positions will be available each year by looking at our list of current Board members with their terms.
