Resources

From time to time, we all need a little help from our friends!
If you're puzzling over a difficult project, or wondering if someone else has already had the same problem as you, there is most likely someone out there who can offer you some tips and tools to help you in your work. For information managers, your resources will vary depending on what type of organization you work for, but you should be able to find something in this list to help you.
For provincial public sector information managers, the Provincial Archives Records Centre can be a great resource, as well as the Office of the Information Access and Privacy Commissioner.
If you work for a federal government department or agency, Library and Archives Canada has some guidelines that apply to you, and so does the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada.
For private sector information managers, PIPEDA may apply to you and there are industry-specific standards you can refer to.
ARMA's Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles are a great resource for any information manager, regardless of their setting.
